ISD-DE Meeting 2024 – Call for abstracts
International Society of Dacryology and Dry Eye
14th Congress ISD-DE London 29th – 31st May 2024
Dear ISD-DE Worldwide,
The Members of the Scientific Committee are pleased to invite you to submit your Abstracts, now open 25th October 2023.
Since July the Organising team have made great advances in planning the Event of the Year of the Tear, to be held in London, May 29th to 31st 2024.
The Meeting and its venue are confirmed. It will be held in County Hall, by St Thomas’s Hospital, Westminster Bridge and the London Wheel, and opposite Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. This is a superb central location for both UK delegates and international visitors. Not only will you be in the centre of London, near Trafalgar Square with its art galleries and Theatre Land, but also part of the South Bank which is full of arts, music, cinema venues and restaurants. County Hall also houses the aquarium Sea World which is well worth a visit. You will be attending the best meeting of The Year of the Tear 2024!
The Meeting venue is in the highly sophisticated conference centre with views of the Thames, lots of space, and excellent facilities. There will be two lecture theatres, a large Exhibition, Poster and Catering area, a Reception tickets area, a Speaker Ready Room and Congress Office. There is also a separate café aside.
On Wednesday 29th May the trade exhibitors will set up in the morning and we will have a Dry Eye and Watery Eye Course from 1 pm to 5 pm, followed by a Local Reception in a Boutique Hotel on the South Thames Bank, within walking distance from the conference venue. The Welcome Reception is included in the Course tickets.
On Thursday and Friday, 30th and 31st May, we will have the Congress proper with a two day Scientific Programme with Key Note Speakers, free papers, rapid fire presentations and two important Eponymous Lectures. Tickets for the two days are sold apart from the Course tickets. There will be a GALA DINNER on Thursday 30th May, first come first served, limited spaces, not included in general congress registration.
PRELIMINARY PROGRAMME
The Preliminary Programme will be published later in November 2023. However, we can already confirm our two eponymous lectures:
- Professor Geoffrey Rose will give the Inaugural Dr Juan Murube de Castillo Lecture on Watery Eyes
- Professor Harminder Dua will give the Inaugural Schirmer Lecture on Dry Eyes
Precise titles to be announced in November with the Preliminary Programme.
SOCIAL PROGRAMME
The Social Programme includes the Welcome Reception evening on 29th May 2024 and a Gala Dinner on Thursday 30th May in a nearby Riverside Restaurant with wonderful views over London towards St Paul’s Cathedral and high above the Thames River.
Further details of the 2024 Scientific Programme, Social Programme and Registration rates will follow in November!
Start preparing your abstracts for submission, open from 25th October 2023.
