The entrance to etc.venues County Hall is on Belvedere Road – please note this IS NOT on the river side of the building, Belvedere Road runs parallel to the river to the rear of the building. The door to the venue is situated in the middle of the building, half way down Belvedere Road opposite Forum Magnum Square. The nearest stations to the venue are Waterloo and Westminster – both a pleasant 5 minutes walk away.

County Hall is situated in central London in the Congestion Zone.
County Hall is located on Belvedere Road.
Belvedere Road can be accessed from Westminster Bridge Road or York Road (both A3200).
It may be easier to use public transport to access the County Hall.

There is a taxi rank in Chicheley Street.
There is no onsite parking. There is coach parking only along Belvedere Road.
There is Blue Badge and standard on-street parking on Chicheley Street.

Wednesday 29th we have the Update Course.

This is up on the 4th Floor. Give your name on the ground floor and they will show you to the lift. Once on the 4th Floor turn Left out of the lift to the etc. Venue Reception. They will then further direct you round to the Thames Suite where we have the ISD-DE Reception Desk. The Update Course uniquely in County Suite. Everything will be clearly sign posted.

You will pick up your badge and any other things from ISD-DE Reception and then can have coffee on arrival, and hence move into the County Suite.


If you are a Speaker on the Course:
Please check you have handed in your talk in advance and check it is there on the day. 

We will not have a separate Speaker Ready Room on 29th, only on 30th and 31st (Lords 3), so on Wednesday 29th you must go directly to the AV technician in County Suite with your USB as soon as possible, drink your coffee after!
If you have bought your MACBOOK, please ensure you remember your Power Source and cables as we cannot ensure these will be available. Hence best to hand over your talk.


Ensure you are seated ready for the start of sessions. If you are speaking, please sit on the front row. If you are late, the lectures have started, or the County Suite is full you will not be allowed entry.


Welcome Reception:
After the course on Wednesday there is a Welcome Reception in the Thames Suite from 6pm to 8pm. Please pick up your badge for this from Reception. It is just small nibbles and get together to start the meeting on a positive footing, mingle with other delegates, speakers, organisers and the sponsors.

Scientific Meeting Thursday and Friday 30th and 31st May

Many people attending the Update Course will stay for the main meeting as well. If these are your first days, the same as above applies in terms of badge pick up but we will also have the Speaker Ready Room in Lords 3, with x 4 laptops and an attendee AV technician where you can test out your talks in privacy and make any last minute adjustments, typo corrections, ensure it is correctly uploaded and in the safe hands of the AV technician for the correct Lecture Theatre.


If you are a Speaker on the Scientific Meeting:

We will have a separate Speaker Ready Room on 30th and 31st (Lords 3)

Note that there are three lecture theatres running simultaneously and you must plan your two days carefully, giving ample time for attending the Westminster and Lords as well as the County Suite.

Arrangements for Lunch, teas and coffees:
Everyone is having lunch and refreshments together in the Thames Suite where you will also mingle with the Exhibitors. The food is stand up buffet so wear comfortable shoes.

Connect to etc venues, then use password provided to you at Reception.  There will be fast Wifi in every Lecture Theatre.

Scavenger Hunt
This is a competition with Prizes. Please pick up a Scavenger Hunt form and at Lunchtime 30th May go around the Exhibitors to learn more. Return your forms to Reception by Coffee Break Friday 31st May. Prizes will be announced and given at lunchtime Friday 31st May in the Thames Suite.

Gala Dinner 

Collect your Gala dinner ticket at registration. Entry by Ticket only. If you still wish to attend the Gala Dinner but do not have a ticket, please ask at Reception for returns, and arrange to pay by Bank Transfer to ISDDE2020, see below.
