Dr. Yasser Khan is fellowship trained in Ophthalmic Plastic, Reconstructive and Orbital Surgery (oculoplastics). He completed his medical school from McMaster University and went on to complete a residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Toronto. Dr. Khan then went on to complete an Oculoplastics Fellowship at the internationally renowned Ophthalmic Oncology and Oculoplastics Centre at the University of Cincinnati.
He is currently a Associate Professor at McMaster University and University of Toronto and is the Director of the McMaster University Fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic, Reconstructive and Orbital Surgery.
His research interests include novel techniques of evaluating and teaching Ophthalmology/Oculoplastics to medical students and residents and the effect of eyelid surgery on various ocular conditions.
He is actively involved in the training of international Ophthalmologists in the field of oculoplastics and has lectured, travelled to and performed surgery in over 40 countries.
His practice includes a special interest in lacrimal disease, eyelid/orbital oncology, and complex ocular and orbital trauma.
