Francesco Quaranta Leoni, MD is the Medical Director at Oftalmoplastica Roma, Rome – Italy, and Adjunct Professor of Ophthalmology at the Universities of Pavia and Ferrara- Italy.
Past President of ESOPRS and SICOP (Italian Oculoplastic Surgery Society), International Associate Member of ASOPRS, Member of ITEDS and AAO, Committee Member and Advisor for Oculoplastic Surgery of AIMO (Italian Association of Ophthalmologists), Member of the Editorial Board of Orbit – the International Journal on Orbital Disorders, Oculoplastic and Lacrimal Surgery. He attended general ophthalmic and subspecialty strabismus training at the Catholic University of Rome, and a two-year Fellowship in Oculoplastic, Lacrimal and Orbital Surgery at Moorfields Eye Hospital – London. In 2014, he received the ASOPRS Merrill Reeh Pathology Award for his work on the management of porous orbital implants requiring explanation.
He lectures regularly worldwide on oculoplastic surgery, has presented the Tessier Lecture in Paris in 2022, will present the Mustarde Lecture in Rotterdam in 2024, publishes in the field, and has a commitment to teaching, training ophthalmic doctors at residency and post residency level.
He is an examiner for both EBOD and EBO-ESOPRS subspecialty exam, and the co-Editor of Oculoplastic, Lacrimal and Orbital Surgery: The ESOPRS Textbook – Springer, 2024.
