Daniele Lorenzano is an Ophthalmic Consultant with a special interest in Oculoplastic Lacrimal and Orbital Surgery. He is the research lead for the Oculoplastics and Orbital Service at the Eye Unit at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.

He has a special interest in thyroid eye disease and in botulinum neuro-toxin treatment for facial dystonia conditions such as hemifacial and essential blepharospasm.

He completed his training at the prestigious Ophthalmology Residency Programme at the University of Rome, Tor Vergata for which he was awarded with CCT cum laude in Ophthalmology. He subsequently went on to develop his sub-specialist interest in orbital, lacrimal, eyelid reconstructive and aesthetic surgery with advanced fellowship training at Moorfields Eye Hospital and Bristol Eye Hospital and as Visiting Fellow at the Eye and Ear Hospital in Melbourne.

Mr Lorenzano started the first oculoplastic and orbital service at the Eye Hospital in Milan and worked for several years as the honorary oculoplastic consultant at the National Cancer Institute in Milan. He is a keen educational supervisor training young surgeons on eyelid lacrimal and orbital conditions.
