Angela M. Dolmetsch,MD is professor of Oculofacial, Orbital, Reconstructive and Lacrimal Surgery at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Cali, Colombia. She received her MD followed by her internship and residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Valle in Cali, Colombia. She completed her first fellowship in Ophthalmic Pathology at McGill University, Montreal, Canada. She then completed a second fellowship in oculofacial, orbital, reconstructive and lacrimal surgery at McGill University under the guidance of François Codere. She has more than 20 peer reviewed publications, 5 book chapters and 2 award winning videos distributed by the AAO. She has been invited as an international speaker to more than 10 countries. She has been an official instructor at the AAO Endoscopic Lacrimal skills transfer course for more than 11 years and has trained many fellows and observers in endoscopic surgery. She has been awarded the Gillingham Pan-American Fellowship award, the AAO Education Award, the AAO Scholar Award and the AAO achievement award. In 2020 she received the James A. Katowitz Pediatric Award given by the American Society of Oculofacial and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS). She is also past president of the Colombian Society of Oculoplastic and reconstructive Surgery and has 2 United States Design patents (USDP) for medical devices. Dr. Dolmetsch has a private and university-based practice and is preceptor of the Oculofacial, Orbital, reconstructive and Lacrimal surgery fellowship program at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Cali, Colombia.
